My parents always styled my hair short. I had a super short buzz cut with a long fringe for years. My hair was a beautiful platinum blond, accented with turquoise and orange in the front. We all loved it so much! When I moved to Kelowna and started working at Total E'Clipse, I often heard comments like, "Your roots are showing," and I gradually transformed into a look that was quite different from my grunge, granola, hippie, and sometimes preppy tomboy days in the prairies.

My parents worked incredibly hard, often putting in 20-hour days throughout my life. I think my mom might have taken a year off when I was born, but I can hardly be sure. My days were filled with kayaking competitively or exploring the streets and the bush with my sled, dune buggy, or 50cc Honda, often venturing far beyond our 40 acres.

Now, I absolutely love my long hair. It feels nice and feminine at this stage of my life. I'm grateful that my parents always supported my choices, even though I was often left to explore and discover the world around me.

Exploring the Unknown

In British Columbia, I find myself more cautious about wandering deep into the unknown, but I still engage in activities that make me feel alive, even if they seem a bit risky or silly at times.

Adventurous Nights

Every year, I venture into the dark forest for a solo skate ski of over 20 kilometers without moonlight, often going past opening hours with my music playing. If I see moose tracks, I keep going anyway, equipped with my headlamp.

With a big backpack and a heavy stride, I make sure to keep the cougars at bay. After all, they don’t typically attack panthers! 😉

Embracing the Adventure!

When I'm about halfway out, just 10K away, the world feels so quiet and magical! I turn off my music and lamp, letting the sounds of nature dance around me. It's a little spooky, but it also fills me with a thrilling sense of life! I feel just as vibrant as I did when I was younger, when I was painting colorful masterpieces, exploring new places, and bravely taking on the world, believing I was unstoppable!

Let Your Spirit Shine!

Every moment spent in nature reminds me of the fearless girl I used to be, full of dreams and daring adventures. So, let's embrace the beauty around us and keep that adventurous spirit alive!
